What is this all about?
Foremost,
this is about the connections between seemingly disparate things, and
the sense of wonder that connection invokes. More prosaically,
Eclect-o-mat exists to entertain and engage you as a framework to share
shiny things you've found.
Do I have to do anything?
Only
view, if that is your pleasure. Alternately, you can suggest themes,
comment on and +1 posts or post things you've found of interest that
relate to the week's theme.

Indeed -- provided you are willing to abide by a few simple rules:
1)
What you post has to have some relationship (no matter how recondite!)
to the active theme. Please use the week's current hashtag on your
post.

Discussion-worthy controversy is welcome -- efforts to gratuitously
shock, disgust or troll the community are not. Malefactors found guilty
of the later will be unceremoniously banned from the community, chopped
into miniscule bits and then fed to the hagfish.
3) Any media that can in any way
be construed to be NOT safe for workplace viewing should be posted with
a link out to the media ONLY, and tagged with the hashtag #NSFW .

Remember to give credit where it is due! When possible, please give
appropriate credit for images linked, and post original article links
when not re-sharing from within Google+.
I have a problem with something -- how can I fix it?
If you posted something that you would like deleted, please tag it with the #DeleteThis hashtag.
If you've posted in the wrong category, tag the post with the #MoveThis hashtag.
If you feel a post or comment requires a moderator's attention, please use the #moderator hashtag.
These tags allows admins to easily find problem posts and take care of them.
If
you want to discuss a more complex issue, please describe the problem
and post it in the Administrivia category. If you don't want to make
your post public, share it to +D Luria only.
